In partnership with Synpaxe, Lifebit has opened an R&D center in Singapore to advance precision medicine research in Japan and the APAC area.

The partnership aims to support vital precision medicine research in the region with its patented federated technology platform for genomics and biomedical data. Additionally, this collaboration is supported by Singapore’s national HealthTech agency.

“Lifebit’s initial focus is to support its partnerships in Singapore, with plans for further collaborations across southeast Asia and Japan,” a spokesperson for Lifebit told Clinical Insider.

“The HQ in Singapore includes an office with R&D facilities, and onsite teams working with partners.

Lifebit is providing a patented federated data and analytics platform to Synpaxe to enable the secure access, linkage and research using genomic and biomedical data.

The modalities include molecular data, research phenotypic data, clinical data and other lifestyle evidence. The partnership will lead to intergration and research on these data for studies across a wide range of disease areas and human health-related conditions.

“The key driver for Lifebit’s expansion into APJ, with Singapore as the hub, was to advance collaboration with Synapxe. Synapxe is the national HealthTech agency of Singapore, which partners and supports MOH in realizing national healthcare policies and outcomes,” the spokesperson said.

Although the firm confirmed to be expanding its headcount, they did not reveal any specifics associated with this, and the financials were not disclosed.
